Very happy with this purchase
Originally I was looking into a much cheaper version of a bread maker since I wasn't really sure how much I'd use it. My mom insisted on this Panasonic because of the automatic yeast dispenser, and that she had previously owned one she loved.
I cannot thank her enough for her suggestion. I love this bread maker! It is super simple to use, and comes with a few great recipes to start with. I really like the rapid bake option as well. Fresh bread in under 2 hours is fantastic. The bread has always turned out great, and I've used it every other day since I received my order.

The only complaints I have are that it is a bit bulky, and the outer body gets super hot while baking. That's understandable, but I have two young kids, so it makes me a little nervous. Still, I would recommend this bread maker to anyone. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase!ACatWay
Great bread machine for a first timer!
We were solely impressed by our friend's Zojirushi bread machine when they gave us a loaf of freshly made bread. Instantly we were sold on the idea of making our own breads in the comfort of our own home, and I loved that home made bread is without preservatives or artificial ingredients (well you know exactly what goes into your food!). I hunted on the Internet for a reliable yet affordable bread machine and was leaning towards Zojirushi (even though it was more expensive), but the Panasonic model caught my eye with its variety of features for such a great price. Not to mention it could make up to XL sized loaves, and had an automatic yeast dispenser. I went with the Panasonic and have had no regrets. It is very user friendly and the timer is very simple to use - Waking up to the smell of fresh baked bread is truly homely. processed my order efficiently and I received my bread machine in a couple of days.Isakai
Best Bread Machine
Thought it was time to write a review. I purchased this machine in 1998?? I used it to bake loaves of bread for church parties, and made countless loaves of bread. Went to use the machine this morning, and I realized it works the same today, as it did when I bought it about 15 years ago. I researched on the internet when I first started using the internet. It just quietly does a great job every time. Some tips: Wash bread pan right away after each use, but wait til it cools. Wash by soaking and use gentle rag and gently remove all dried flour (if any) Let it air dry completely before storing. I don't know if the manufacturer would recommend this, but every so often I put a small amount of WD40 on the underneath part of the bread pan where the mixer turns, and turn it manually a few times, before storage. But it works fine without this. NOTE: this is for the pan only, not the machine. I keep the bread machine on the counter out of the sun and you should keep it covered. I highly recommend this product. Everyone looks forward to getting a loaf of bread. The consistency of the dough it makes, is wonderful. I have no affiliation whatsoever with Panasonic. This is entirely an honest review. God BlessChris C
Excellent Bread Machine
I had the previous version of this and it lasted 15 years. The new one has several nice improvements: It makes 3 sizes of loaves. Better rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't move around. It's larger inside so the bread won't rise so high and hit the inside top of the lid. (This used to happen in my old machine and gunk up the yeast dispenser.) Many types of modes for baking and dough. Overall I am extremely pleased with this breadmaker. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.Laurelee36
Great Breadmaker
I did a lot of research before purchasing this breadmaker. I originally was going to buy a more expensive brand, but reality set in and I chose this one. Glad I did! I works great. I've been using it for over a year now with no problems. And I've eaten tons of great, healthy bread!Writergirl
simple fix for noise/squeaks
I have seen many have had a problem with noise/ squeaks. I too had this issue and I remedied it by taking some foil, folding it two or three times and taking two pieces 3" x2" and pressing them around the lip on the base which receives the baking pan. This made the pan fit better, and eliminated all issues with noise as well as the paddle shaft locking up. The foil rarely needs to be moved/ replaced. I have made hundreds of loaves since, and have no more issues. Why return an otherwise perfect machine? READ THIS, PANASONIC.JoeKoz
Great bread but bakes just a few minutes too long
I bake at least two loaves of whole grain bread a week but stop the baking between 5-10 minutes before the cycle completes. If the cycle goes the complete 5 hours, the crust is much to dry, brown and hard. By stopping just a few minutes short of the 5 hours, the bread is PERFECT. Besides the nuisance of having to set a timer to stop the baking process manually, I really do like this bread machine.Anonymous
Panasonic Breadmaker - mostly happy
We have made bread with this bread maker five times so far. The first two loaves were wonderful. Then the automatic adding of the yeast stopped. Once we figured out what had happened, we just added the yeast ourselves when putting the dry ingredients in the pan and have gotten delicious loaves since then. Don't think the automatic yeast adding is necessary unless baking with the timer. We don't plan to do that so won't be returning the unit - but be aware that this could be a problem. I looked at the mechanism and it looks like the rod to push the yeast release button is askew. I read other reviews with this problem also.Anonymous
Big trouble
My wife reports that after making two loaves of bread, something mechanical failed in the machine - it now makes a tremendous racket while running. We're currently In talks with Panasonic; their initial request - which we rejected - was that we send it back at our expense. (That would be considerable - this is a good-sized machine.) May need some help on this from Wal-Mart.Pipewelder

It only kneaded it one time. Dough remained very heavy. Did not bake well, as it remained doughy in the middle. I returned it. I have used other bread machines for 20 or more years and have never had this problem. I purchased it because it was rated very high, but did not meet the rating it had been given.Carlajean
